On Sept. 20, 2016 Minnesota Viking Blair Walsh and cheerleaders Kari-Ann and Jessica visited with our students. Mr. Walsh talked about the importance of staying physically active and believing in yourself. He also ran some drills with a group of students. Our guests were brought here through our involvement with the FuelUPtoPlay 60 program and FitnessGram fitness testing. I promised the classes that raised the most money, and had the most contributors for Jump Rope For Heart that they would be able to throw water balloons at me. Here is a picture of a few of the students getting that opportunity! We had a fun half of the day before getting rained out! Thank you Parkside Parents for volunteering for the event! Parkside was well represented in the all school relay race! Great job runners and alternates! The boys team came in third place and the girls team placed FIRST!
Thank you for your efforts to raise $ for the American Heart Association. The PES students were able to raise:
$8,591! What a wonderful effort. Part of the money that was raised is returned to us to use to purchase physical education equipment. Make sure to look at the photo page to see what fun we had during the event! Make sure to find out what is happening in our physical education classes by following Parkiside PE on twitter!
Parkside students donated 187 pounds of Halloween candy - what a great effort! Maple Lake Elementary donated the most in the Wright County, but Parkside was also near the top. Allina Health will be donating $2,000 dollars to the food shelfs in Wright County – all thanks to your efforts!
